Tom Burns and Sandra Sinfield set the Access programme at the London Metropolitan University in the mid 1980's and in the most literal terms gave students that wanted entry into higher education the tools to learn, study and succeed not only at university, but throughout the whole of Life. In the Department of Professional studies in the CELT group Teacher Training that has taught and inspired thousands of students that now teach all over the UK and the world. Tom had sadly passed but his work and influence will remain, insight that has given students deep knowledge, it's practical application and a sense to achieve enabling any subject to be taught across the whole of academia. That's a legacy.
